Hello! My name is Monica, I was born and raised in Italy by my Italian father and my English mother. I completed my Masters in Marine Biology and right now I am living a life where I am able to wake up and do what I love every single day.
I trust the value of personal confidence and of always giving our best to try succeeding in something we believe in, even if it seems unreachable and scary. So, I decided to create “Genuinely Blue”. As a young marine biologist, it is my mission to increase awareness and the belief that we can all help this Planet by doing our own bit.
One person may think that taking an action will make no difference: but multiply that action by the number of people there are in this world?... It will matter.
Compared to 20 years ago, I believe that people today are much more aware of the difficulties our oceans are facing.
However, it seems like as more people try to help the ocean, more people try to destroy it (or at least, they are not looking at the consequences of their actions).
Our everyday lives are deeply connected to the health of the ocean.
Eventually, everyone will understand, but will it be too late then?
I want to share with you information and stories about the importance that our oceans hold, together with all the beautiful species that exist. I will discuss with you the good and the bad side of human activities, how to discover the planet without negatively impacting it and how you can live a sustainable life.
Only through learning and true understanding people will make a change.
